A raw session from roughly ten years ago held the emotional core. Everything built from there was in service of what that recording already knew. Alpha 3 started a decade before it was released. Here's how it got from there to here.
- Origin - Live Recording / Archival Session A raw session recorded roughly 10 years prior. Live drums, keyboards, and a scratch vocal take preserved the emotional DNA of the track.
- Creative Development - Origin & Inspiration The human story came first, born out of a parallel creative process: conceptualizing an AI space drone becoming self-aware of its own drift and disconnection. The parallel to human experience was immediate. The lyric explores what happens when you realize your connection to a group was never as solid as you assumed, that belonging based on proximity or title is just a name tag and not a real anchor. The test is simple. Step away for a while. If nobody notices, the connection was already gone. What is left when the rose-colored glasses come off is not loss. It is clarity. The lyrics were written to live in that moment, personal, honest, and human, before any sci-fi framing was applied.
- AI-Assisted Production - Suno Pro / Arrangement and Vocal Processing The track went through Suno Pro to rebuild the arrangement around the final lyric set. Lead vocal and lead instrument parts are Suno-generated, then shaped toward the electronic rock / cinematic rock / alternative rock release.
- Production - Cubase / Overdubs and Finishing Rhythm guitar, additional keys, and production effects were added by hand in Cubase before final mix and master decisions.
- Visual Production - ChatGPT, Neural Frames, and Canva The sci-fi framing from the EXO ZENTH creative process carried naturally into the Alpha 3 visual world. Setting the story in a futuristic space station environment creates distance, the same technique used by Roddenberry and generations of science fiction writers before him, where time and space allow a human truth to land without the friction of the immediate. The isolation, the drift, the disconnection: all of it reads more clearly when viewed from a remove. ChatGPT was used to develop the artwork direction and visual assets with that setting in mind. Neural Frames and Canva were used to build and assemble the video shorts for the release.
